Skincare is essential to have for a healthy and beautiful body. It’s essential for those in the workforce who are spending time outdoors or even the average Joe with hot sunny weather year-round. There are so many different skin care products you can invest in, from creams, gels, and masks. I’ll cover three of the favorites that I believe are worth purchasing.
- Cleanser
How do you eliminate bacteria, viruses, and other germs on your skin? You wash them off with a product that effectively washes away harmful toxins. Most cleansers available today use soothing agents such as glycerin. Some alternatives include sea buckthorn seed oil from extractions of the seed of an armadillo nut that has been used for centuries for its antimicrobial properties to treat minor wounds, eczema, acne, and insect bites. Native American tribes have also used it in Mexico as a traditional medicine to treat various problems. The cleanser should be moisturized and ph balanced to avoid dry skin, find cleansers with glycolic acid or lactic acid.
- Moisturizer
We are constantly washing our skin off with water and soap or surfactant, but we are also losing essential lipids that keep our skin from drying out. To gain back the moisture content of your skin, use a moisturizer. It feels great on your skin and helps break down substances that make your face feel rough, such as dead skin cells, for smoother feeling skin. Choose a moisturizer with Vitamin A like retinol works excellent for acne-prone dry or oily skin. Moisturizers are great to use before or after washing your face. It prevents the skin from drying out, keeping the protective layer of lotion on the surface of your skin. Moisturizers significantly prevent wrinkles and fine lines from forming on the surface of your facial epidermis.
- Sunscreen
Protecting your skin from the sun and other harmful outside elements can lead to premature aging or even skin cancer. I recommend buying a moisturizer with 50 SPF or higher for those who want extra protection from the sun’s harmful rays. You can also buy tinted moisturizers in various skin tones to cover up imperfections on your skin. For those looking for an aftershave scent: Cologne cream is made with rose water extract to help deal with detoxification. If you have eczema, choose an aftershave scented with calendula extract, which has been shown to decrease itching and redness when applied to the affected area.
There are so many different skin care products you can invest in at the local store, and it’s great to find something that works well with your skin type. The critical thing to focus on is finding healthy products for your face. You can choose a cleanser and moisturizer with the proper ingredients.
