MacBook Pro Meets M2

The first MacBook I owned was a 2009 MacBook Pro. Decked out with 2GB of RAM, a hard drive that sounded like a truck, and a CD disk drive, the MacBook Pro was a beast of a machine. Fast forward to 2022 and the MacBook Pro has made light-years of technological progress, leaving competitors in the dust.

This year, Apple introduced the all new 13-inch MacBook Pro that features Apple’s cutting edge M2 Chip. Compared to its predecessor, the M2 chip optimizes performance for users, specifically when it comes to battery life and heavy-duty application performance. The previous M1 MacBook Pro boasted a 13-hour battery life that was great for engineers, designers, or business executives working from home. The new 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro provides a whopping 15-hour battery life, allowing users to work without wires even more than before. The efficiencies are also showcased when comparing the competing Microsoft Surface. Not only did the M2 MacBook Pro outperform the Surface, it scored twice as high when testing both single and multi-core CPU tests (source: https://www.techradar.com/reviews/apple-macbook-pro-13-inch-m2-2022). In other words, the M2 MacBook Pro allows users to travel 70 MPH on the highway, compared to the Surface 50 MPH.

We’re excited that Apple has decided to bring back the user-friendly and intuitive touch bar at the top of the keyboard. This dynamic touch bar gives users the opportunity to adjust settings, configure app specific options, and tailor precise video editing selections. Similar to its other Apple family members, the M2 MacBook Pro offers a touch ID button that allows users to unlock the device and make purchases from the App Store. Instead of having to memorize passwords or phrases, the touch ID allows you to sign into sensitive areas of the device with the touch of a finger.

As for pricing: The base 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro retails at $1,299 and comes packed with 8 GB of RAM and 256 SSD storage. For most users, this base model will be plenty sufficient. If you’re a power video, photo, or development professional, you can configure your machine with up to 2 TB of SSD storage and 24 GB of RAM.

Ultimately, this is one of the best computers available in Apple’s lineup. If you’re a graphic editor, music producer, or video editor, look no further than the 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro.
